Orbit for Mac — developer preview. Voice, conversation and local computer use, together in one desktop app. Apple Silicon (M1 and later).
This preview is not Developer ID signed or notarised. macOS may block it. For testers who understand these limits, not a stable release.

Open the .dmg and drag Orbit to Applications. Apple Silicon only (M1 and later) — an Intel Mac cannot run this build.
If macOS blocks the app, check System Settings → Privacy & Security. Use Open Anyway only if you trust this download and have checked the checksum below. Do not disable Gatekeeper. Managed Macs may not allow this preview.
Sign in, add your OpenAI key and save your Voice provider choice in Settings. Select the appropriate voice and computer-use models; allow Microphone, Screen Recording and Accessibility when needed. Approve a small task to begin. Provider usage is charged to your selected account.
Updating this preview: quit Orbit and replace the app in Applications with the newer download. No uninstall is needed; do not delete your app data. Automatic in-app updates are not active in this unsigned preview.

Orbit for Windows — developer preview. A Windows 11 x64 installer, ready for testing on your computer.
This build is unsigned. Voice and driving on Windows 11 are not yet verified end to end. For testing, not unattended work.

Run the .exe and follow the installation wizard. It is configured to install for your user, without an administrator prompt. Windows 11, x64; ARM Windows has not been tested. For a later preview, quit Orbit and run the newer installer without deleting app data.
This build is unsigned. SmartScreen or your organisation’s policy may block it. Continue only if you trust this source and have checked the checksum; do not disable Windows security. Automatic in-app updates are not active in this preview.

Orbit is a live spoken conversation, not a command box: it hears you, answers aloud, and keeps the transcript on screen so you can read what you both said. Type instead whenever a keyboard is nearer than a microphone.

Orbit shows the proposed work and its target application before acting. Permission is bounded by the approved task or session; sensitive actions have their own approval checks. You can pause or stop the drive.
The same rule on every platform, no exceptions
Watcher mode keeps a companion panel beside your work. You can keep the session open after a task, then ask for the next one. Muting voice does not end watcher mode; use Stop or end the session when you want Orbit to stop watching.

Orbit operates locally on your computer, not through a remote server desktop. Its drive controls show progress, pause and Stop. Mouse or keyboard interruption pauses execution; a new action still needs to be within your approved scope.

A step counts as done only when a verified receipt says so. When Orbit cannot do something, it says exactly that on screen instead of improvising — what it cannot prove, it does not report.
Everywhere, always
Conversations stay on your computer: today’s, recent, and the ones you star to keep. Ninety days is the standing retention; export and delete are buttons, not support tickets. Your sign-in is sealed by the operating system’s own keychain — Keychain on the Mac, DPAPI on Windows.

One codebase, one interface, one permission model, the same refusal sentences. What differs today is how much of the computer Orbit may operate — and on Linux, whether there is a build at all. That difference is stated, never blurred.

“Built” and “working” are different words, and this table keeps them apart. Developer preview is not a guarantee that every workflow succeeds. Never run end to end means a successful device acceptance run has not been recorded for that platform. Built, not reachable yet means a capability is not available through a verified app path. Refuses by design means Orbit declines instead of pretending.
Mac voice and computer-use flows have previously been exercised, but publishing a new installer is not a fresh paid driving test. Windows installation and driving still require acceptance on a real Windows 11 device. Download availability, automated tests and real-task reliability are separate checks.
A conversation can become a task. A finished task can become the next conversation. You set the direction and approve the work.
“Open Safari, search for OpenClaw, and tell me what it is.” Orbit turns that into a named plan and shows it to you before anything happens.
Permission is requested for the specific task, naming the application. Allow it once, or for as long as Orbit is open. There is no permanent allowlist — not even as a shortcut.
A step is only “done” when a verified receipt says so. Anything consequential — sending, sharing, paying — stops for a separate, final confirmation.
Software that can operate your computer has to be answerable for it. This is the model, shown in Orbit’s interaction prototype.

This embedded prototype is a simulation, not the installed app. Nothing you click here reaches your computer; its microphone and application windows are mock-ups. Use the downloads above for the actual desktop preview and its permission-controlled local execution.
A working download is a beginning, not a promise that every workflow is ready. Here is what to know before you start.
The Mac build is not notarised. Developer ID signing and notarisation are still pending. macOS may block it; read the preview installation notes before downloading. The Windows build is unsigned too. These are not stable, automatic-update releases.
Voice needs setup. Sign in, choose and save a provider mode, supply your key where required, select a compatible Realtime model and allow the microphone. Paid model access depends on your provider account.
No billing exists. There is no checkout and no way to buy a plan or a credit. Whether an account has access is the server's answer alone.
Driving is still a preview. Give Orbit a small, observable task in an application you choose. Review permissions and approvals, and keep Stop within reach. Not every application or workflow has been verified.
